Wakaki has been pushing Keima too hard. After the Goddess arc, Keima had no time to rest and found himself back in time to deal with multiple captures so I’m not surprised to see him finally fall. Or rather, I was expecting this. The day where Keima finally gave up.
Don’t get me wrong though. I don’t hate Keima or Wakaki. It’s just that, Keima has always been unappreciated. Capture after capture, Keima finds himself at the receiving end of misfortune. Whether it’s physical abuse or absurd circumstances, Keima had to endure it all. He may have the title of Capturing God but humans still have limitations. And it wouldn’t be surprising if he finally reached his.
Come to think of it, how much emotional pressure did he have to endure in that Goddess arc alone? Aside from the fact that Keima needed to awake the Goddesses to save Kanon, he had to re-explore the emotions he had with each of the girls he captured in order to determine which has a Goddess and have to nurture those girls so that the Goddesses would come out. Not to forget that he had to deal with Vintage. That arc alone was a major pain in the ass and Keima didn’t even have a breather after that shit.
It’s really a pain but hang on tight, Capturing God.
