High Cradle

While the hard life seem to be shutting Hachiken up, I still find myself enjoying the diversity of this series. His antics always put him in deep shit but whenever he understands the value of the hardship he endured, it creates a special mood for the viewer, conveying the message that “It was worth it.” But I guess he won’t let up his antics anytime soon. And as annoying as he is, seeing Hachiken grow as a character is certainly amusing.

Well, as annoying as he is, in this story, he always seem to get what he deserves (and then some :p) in both positive and negative ways.

Phew… Finally finished the rest of Episode 1 and mopped up Episode 2. I gotta agree, one of the best satisfactions I get from Gin no Saji is from watching Hachiken’s acts blow up in his face over and over again, most of them stemming from the *wrong* (subjectively speaking) feelings and intentions behind his actions. I do feel sorry for him whenever he does mean good, but the way opportunities and moral lessons change his less than favorable attitude towards life itself makes it worthwhile in rooting for him to grow as a person. It’s pretty enlightening to see him being honest towards the school principal.

Considering he didn’t know who he was talking to, I guess he probably assumed that the old guy was maintenance or something
