They grow up too fast…

I was waiting for this episode so I was like…

YEAH!! It’s the BIG REVEAL right? C’MON BABEH!!

So… uhh… yeah… Madoka Magica anyone?

Did I miss a Gen Urobuchi as I read the staff for this series? He’s doing Psycho-Pass right?

But well, our strangely deformed Kyubey isn’t done talking so let’s let her finish.

This kid knows A LOT… He may even know something that the rest doesn’t

WHAT THE FUCK?! This feels just like Psycho-Pass! A kid who might grow up to be a threat to society gets eliminated, no questions asked.

If there’s some reason why you’re still not watching this, I don’t know… For me, this series just snowballed its ass to one of the best that this season had to offer.

The creation of the setting, the emotion, the disarray and confusion that this episode bestowed to these young children is just WOW. Reality bit these kids with all of its teeth and revealed information that their minds couldn’t handle. I’m not saying these guys are pathetic or stupid, it’s just that the level of knowledge that’s made accessible to them isn’t something one can fully digest. If anything, I sense suicide, lunacy, and character deaths. Remember Mami going batshit crazy when she found out that Witches were once Puella Magi? Yep, that sort of thing.

And you know, there’s a lot to discuss from this episode. A lot of interesting events that spanned for 500+ years. From the rampage of psychics, to the enslavement of humanity, the decline of technology, the control of civilization and the restructuring of human DNA, putting a kill switch to keep people in control, even Shun’s theory of the possibility that these powers could’ve been meant to combat the demons and fiends that were growing. Every single one of them are interesting enough to start… something.

The fact that this series plans on running 2 cour may prove to be risky since there may be inconsistency issues and occasional lack of interest along the way but who knows, for now, this episode has definitely grabbed my full attention.

Bonobos as a model? ^^;. Well, as good as this series is, it’s not my cup of tea :p. The backdrop seem to remind me of a lot of different shows, like those that you mentioned and many more (both good ones and bad ones). What makes me avoid this show is two things:
1.) The whole trying to creep out the audience thing.
2.) The super complex background story that makes me think too much.

It looks and sounds like a good anime, but just not my thing ;).

I think it would be better if you marathon this after some time. For now, let’s see how good this gets
