The Transforming Pyre

A few episodes ago, they were winning and now, everything that Yoshiharu had worked hard for in preventing Nobuna from becoming a demon is falling apart. And the biggest shock of it, this is the eleventh episode. If it weren’t for the next episode preview, I wouldn’t have noticed how things are gonna be tight.

We don’t know if Yoshiharu and Juubei really died but we do know that Nobuna is being transformed by her darkness and to be honest, after next week, I’m not even sure if i’ll be welcoming a second season since if ever there is one, I’ll be expecting Yoshiharu and Nobuna to face it off and somehow, it saddens me. Not because she had to face against her lover but because this series did an awesome job in investing Nobuna’s transformation (assuming season 1 IS focused on how Nobuna gone mad) and how it was Yoshiharu’s fault that she’s becoming this way.

I could only assume how things will roll but whether I’m accurate in my assumptions or not, I have to say that this series never failed to amuse me. It has a good cast and well-thought characters. The character development is definitely this series’ strength. Whether they plan on resolving everything next episode or introducing a second season, i’ll most probably accept what this series has to offer…. Unless they manage to pull a good fucking troll.

Even without considering the extremely low expectations I had for this anime, this was surprisingly good ^^;. Not saying that they can do no wrong from here on, but despite the rushed pacing, and a plot that sometimes feel too contrived, it’s definitely better executed and more compelling than some anime with better budgets this season for me :p. Can hardly wait for the last episode :).

Agreed. The execution and character development, backed up with a good cast, makes this series shine. And yes, despite the hype that most of us originally had with a couple of series (SAO for instance), this series never gave such promise but delivered and exceeded my expectations in that aspect. This series may not stand out much but it really snowballed, imo.
